Try To Skip Store Brand Cleaning Products

It is very convenient to have so many different options of cleaning products at the store. No matter what you are looking for, they most likely have it! Everything from stain removers, to flea eliminator, to even toilet cleaner. Have you ever actually taken the time to read the fine print on the label and notice that some of these everyday products may contain things that could be harmful for your health?

When it comes to the health of your family and loved ones, making sure that your furniture and floors are clean is very important. We want your home to be a safe place for you to live. Instead of always buying cleaning products from the store, try some do-it-yourself cleaning products instead!

Creating Your Own BleachBaby_High_Rez

Bleach bought from the store can contain harmful ingredients to your family’s health. An alternative option would be to make your own, safe bleach. Just combine 1/3 cup of fresh lemon juice, with ¾ cup of 3 percent hydrogen peroxide. Add about ten drops of lavender oil (lemon is a good choice also) and mix well. This do-it-yourself mixture is a perfect way to have bleach on hand whenever you may need it. It makes 4 liters and great for those bathroom spills and stains you need to clean up.

Effective Do-It-Yourself Disinfectant

Create your own homemade disinfectant that is safe for your family, cheaper, and lasts longer than the stuff you buy at the store. All you’ll need a spray bottle and some ingredients that you may already have on hand.

Mix together 2 cups of cold water, 20 drops of tea tree oil, 1 teaspoon of dish soap and ½ cup of white vinegar. Pour all ingredients into a spray bottle and shake vigorously. That’s it!
