Anyone who has a backyard knows that a party can go down at a moment’s notice. It’s fun to get a lot of use out of your back patio! Whether you’re throwing a neighborhood get-together or just invited some friends over for a barbecue, you want the tile on your back deck or patio to be good-as-new at a moment’s notice. Here’s a few tips to help you keep your tile in tip-top shape!
Treating Durable Tile
Lucky for us, tile is usually pretty durable. It can withstand a variety of weather conditions as well as heavy foot traffic. However, you have to be careful with the type of heavy furniture you use on your back patio and on tile in your home so that it doesn’t crack from the sharp corners.
Is cracking a regular issue for you and your tile? If you’re tired of replacing worn down tile and grout, consider shopping around for some new less abrasive patio furniture to give your deck a break. Also, be sure to use a high-quality sealant when you’re coating your tile to add an extra layer of protection against cracking and mold. Be sure to take the time to learn what sealant is right for your patio or deck floors!
Daily Cleaning is as Easy as 1, 2, 3!
It’s deceptively easy to consistently clean your tile. Very little effort is required, and it only takes a couple of minutes! Use some everyday tile detergent and a soft, dry sponge. Make sure you don’t wash your tile with water before you clean it - cleaning it when it’s dry is a crucial part of the process to help it stay squeaky clean for longer. Just dampen your sponge with a little of the water/tile detergent mixture and gently scrub your tile.
