We’re in the home stretch! The holiday parties and dinners and gift-givings are in full swing. Is your home ready?
The Holiday Checklist
From guest rooms to bathrooms, it’s important to help friends and family feel at home in a clean house. To get there, you’ll need to make a list of chores to be accomplished. As the holiday get-togethers loom closer, however, that list will only grow. So start early and stay focused!
In our experience, it’s easiest to split chores by room - top to bottom.
Rule number one, make sure everything is fully stocked: toilet paper, hand towels, and hand soap. Consider placing additional stock out in plain sight to help out guests looking for more toilet paper. Clean the toilet, sink, and mirror. Stock an air freshener.
When you’re having guests over, of course you want to have a clean and healthy home. Believe it or not, a large amount of the bacteria and allergens in your home live in your carpets. To really make your home air healthy, you should consider having your floors and carpets deep cleaned by a professional carpet cleaner.
Wash guest linens in how water above 130 degrees Fahrenheit. Consider placing dust-proof covers on pillows, mattresses, and box springs. Close bedroom doors to keep pets and their dander out of the room.
Start by vacuuming fabric-covered furniture and using the appropriate leather cleaners for leather furniture. Removable couch covers you’ll want to wash in hot water. For a deeper, longer-lasting clean, schedule a professional upholstery cleaning that includes protectant to guard your furniture from any potential holiday messes and stains.
